Meeting 08/04/2024 RGGS / Environics

Update,  10 am: Lawrie to update Belinda

1. Review Existing Documentation

• Collect and review all current asbestos-related documents for the school, including clearance certificates, existing asbestos registers, and any relevant reports.
• Ensure you have access to all areas of the school’s records, including digital databases and physical files, to conduct a thorough review.

Completed

2. Assess Compliance with Regulations

• Verify the school’s compliance with local, state, and national regulations regarding asbestos management. These regulations often require regular updates to the asbestos register.
• Determine the last time the asbestos register was updated and whether any recent asbestos removal or maintenance activities have been accurately documented.

Completed

3. Identify Potential Gaps

• Look for discrepancies between documented asbestos locations and those areas identified in reports and certificates. Any recent renovations, repairs, or asbestos removals should be cross-checked with the register for updates.
• Assess whether all known asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are listed in the register and if the condition assessments are up to date.

50% complete

4. Plan for Gap Analysis

• Schedule a comprehensive site survey by a qualified asbestos consultant to verify the accuracy of the current asbestos register and to identify any ACMs not previously recorded.
• This survey should include a review of building plans, inspection of all areas of the property, and possibly sampling of materials suspected to contain asbestos.
